Things to ponder before Saturday…

Bike Safety:
Each year you should have your bike inspected to ensure it is in working order. This is also a requirement to ride in Bike MS New Bern.

Each training ride one should bring:

1. Helmet
2. Bike shoes
3. Gloves
4. Eyewear
5. ID Card
6. Bike safety lights
7. Bike GPS/Phone  (suggested) or a printed cue sheet for the route.
8. Charge batteries for E-bikes or electronic shifters.

Group cycling etiquette:

1. Leave no cyclist behind.
2. When passing call out "On your left".
3. Call out "Car back, or Car up" when appropriate.
4. Use hand signals for turns, slowing, and stopping.
5. Call out for holes/ debris/ gravel, in the road so that the rider behind you will be prepared to deal with it.
6. Let other cyclists  know if you are dropping back or going ahead of the group.
